An ordinary life....

When I said hide the biscuit tin...

THIS isn't exactly what I meant! ;-)))

Just taking a moment from writing my healthy eating shopping list to blip. Didn't realise that was the time!!

Good day today with Alan's visit to his new school going very well indeed, although it nearly didn't happen as he was running a temperature by bedtime last night and generally feeling rubbish.

After the usual wrestling match to get him to take Calpol of all the things to hate, he had to choose something every parent relies on!!! and a quick rub down with a wet sponge, he went off to bed and thankfully woke up fine!

Jackie, his helper at his current school, arrived at 8.45 and we set off for the new school. Once again we were made most welcome and off he went with Jackie to his new class while D and I met with the school team, including the physio, OT and Speech Therapist,to bring them up to speed with all things Alan.

We were mightily impressed to learn that not only have the new team been in touch with the current team for info purposes, they already have him booked into their wheelchair clinic and other pieces of equipment are already in the pipeline. To say we were happy at the end of the meeting is an understatment - happy, relieved, confident in the new team and even more desperate to get moved!

The cherry on the cake was going back to collect Alan and Jackie at 2pm to discover he'd had a great day, is keen to return and had been a major hit with one of the girls in his class who apparently fell in love with him at first sight and gazed at him all day! Hmmm......think we need to have "that talk" soon!!

Jackie also gave the school a big thumbs up and in her view, Alan will be well supported and love it there. That is particularly great to hear as Jackie knows much better than we do, how Alan is at school, so her opinion is really important. Her endorsement is a huge relief.

So, time for small glass of something red and I don't mean Ribena before getting dinner started.

Thank you for your comments on yesterday's feather blip....I still get shivers when I think about finding them. I have put them in a safe place until I find a nice frame or something pretty to keep them in.

Friday tomorrow Peeps....yay! :-)) Back to catch up with you all in a little while xx
