Barefoot Monks

In Ronda for the weekend. Had a lovely family lunch (father-in-law's 70th) and this evening a tasting at a beautiful bodega called Descalzos Viejos.

This is the view of their small vineyards. The property is an old monastery (hence the name which refers to the Monks who were barefoot).

Ronda wines are extremely robust, with complex structure. I'm doing an article on the artisan wineries in the area; so really in the name of research I feel compelled to drink as much as possible!!
