Saturday 31 March 2012: Maud Foster drain and mill.
The drains were once the highways into the town. On market days especially, boats were used by people in the fens as taxis and buses are today to get into town.
The mill is a working Mill and produces many excellent varieties of flour in large and small quantities. My favourite is to make bread from part organic and Roman Spelt (I think it's called this) flour. One slice of bread from this is equivalent to half a loaf from the super market.
