Sunday 1 April 2012: Push Me Pull You
Yet another gorgeous spring day in the Peak District contrary to what the soothsayers on the TV weather portrayed. Pah! What do they know.
So a walk over to Ashford in the Water (surely the prettiest village in the Peak) and a visit to the fanatastic Bulls Head (one of my favourite pubs) was more than in order.
The walk along the river from Bakewell to Ashford is a superb little jaunt with a great example of man and nature in harmony with it's man made lakes and weirs blending in beautifully within the river valley.
You also have the added bonus for anyone new to the walk of the slightly surreal sight of the Llamas.
There are 3 of them mum, dad and the now not so little one, they're incredibly tame and give a slightly weird bent to the scenery.
A highly recommended short walk.
