Tuesday 3 April 2012: The Stump by Withern
Looking south towards the Stump the tallest parish church in England. I'm standing on a foot, vehicle, train bridge that crosses the River Witham. The river is tidal up to this point. Large sluice gates control the Withams flow behind the viewing point. The course of it is manufactured totally, 30 plus miles back to and beyond Lincoln. Meandering is not a word that applies to present day fen landscape.
