Tuesday 3 April 2012: Tinned soup...
767/365: ... gingerbread and the remnants of a craft project... this just about sums up the rainy afternoon the children had this afternoon.
We certainly haven't had the grim and grizzly conditions of snow that have been reported in Scotland - and there was even a little sun this morning - but it has been cold and the rain reminded us of what it was like to have the garden get a good soaking this afternoon.
I got to experience that from the luxury of the sofa as my bronchitis is still kicking around. It really is taking a time to shift. Am hoping to go back to work tomorrow though - I hate to feel like I'm letting myself and other people down by not just going in. Like today. *sigh*
Anyway, it meant I haven't been anywhere again and I am going kinda stir crazy!
The kids have been a bit better today. Maddy's been less vile and Felix less grumpy, but they've been ignoring Nick something chronic. Especially when he was tidying out the basement and they wouldn't leave him alone. It's intoxicating though. Uncovering all of that stuff. Old toys. Bits and bobs. If it hasn't been seen for a while, it's exciting. Oh, and Felix also managed to poke one of his pokey fingers through one of the windows in the polytunnel. Grrrrrrrrr!!!!
So, the upshot is that they're going to be going back to sharing a bedroom. A bit of practice in how to live with another person will do them good, we reckon. Plus, if either of them wrecks the other one's stuff, the consequences from the affected party will be far less restrained than anything we might do! We'll see how it goes...
