Wednesday 4 April 2012: This is one of those photos...
768/365: ... where I don't know what he's doing either.
I think he was pulling faces at Maddy across the table, but the main thing is to observe all the various notes of bad parenting you can see:
Exhibit A - He's got no top on. He was like that when I got home. No idea why.
Exhibit B - He's yelling at the table. Their manners leave a lot to be desired
Exhibit C - That milk is perilously close to the edge - accident fodder
Exhibit D - His cutlery isn't even left neatly at the end of his meal. *faints*
We've been negatively judged as parents a fair bit over the years. We don't necessarily do things in a conventional way and that always brings eye rolling and disapproval. For all those who think we're atrocious parents with slapdash standards... ta da!!! Enjoy! ;o)
For the past half hour the children have been retelling in intricate detail the Wizard of Oz. What's weird is that they've only ever seen it once... and even then, not all of it... and it was ages ago. But I'm gobsmacked by how much they remember. And in comparison to their phenomenal memories, I couldn't even recall the word for 'radiator' earlier. I told Felix to hang some damp jeans over the fridge instead. Definitely losing it.
I blame the fact that I'm tired though. I went back to work today and I'm flippin' pooped! I still haven't cleared my bronchitis but my temperature's gone so I'm on the mend - so I went back to work. And had an almightily awful journey for good measure. When I left the house at about half six it was bucketing with rain in Nottingham... within 10 miles and cars were coming towards me covered in 4-5 inches of snow! And then I headed into seriously heavy snow where visibility was minimal, no traffic was going down the outer lane of the motorway as it was rutted with snow and by the time I arrived in Sheffield, I'd been transported back into a winter wonderland. Bizarre weather.
This evening, the slushy wet snow of Sheffield turned itself back into soggy, waterlogged roads in Nottingham.
PS One more day left until the Easter mini break!
PPS WOOO HOOO!!
PPPS Maddy asked me if she can wear her hair in a bun with a cross on top of it on Friday as it's Hot Cross Bun Day
PPPPS *head in hands*
