Or whatever it is that woodpeckers eat!!! (grubs and insects I suspect).

I think that the rain over the past 48 hours has softened the lawn grass so that he can now poke and prod with a lot more ease.

He stayed for quite a while but was hopping about so much that most of the shots were blurred.
