Thursday 5 April 2012: Shadow Boxing
How lovely it was to see blue sky today and have shadows again.
We had a flying visit from daughter #2 and the four Rannoch grandchildren, stopping in Edinburgh en route from Stratford to home after a break with the other grandparents.
They are a lively entertaining bunch and always look pleased to see me, which as any grandparent knows is a bonus, especially when you don't see them all that often.
Unlike the Elgin twins, they are very happy to have their photos taken for the family album and calendar, and are expert at assuming pleasing poses without any coercion.
An added bonus to being in their company is the fact that they laugh at my silly jokes, which is very kind of them, but since Seb the oldest is only 10, and Theo the youngest is a fortnight short of 4, there is obviously still time for them to give me the more sophisticated eye rolling treatment in later years.
Now after their departure there are the crumbs to be disposed of, and the house given a spruce up, in readiness for friends coming tomorrow morning who have not yet had 'The Tour'. Dust is never appealing.
