Friday 6 April 2012: Good Friday Christian Witness
Today is Good Friday in the Christian calendar when we remember the death of Jesus on the cross, prior to his resurrection on Easter Sunday. Each year the united Christians in Ilkeston get together for a short act of worship and then walk in silence through the town; stopping for hymns, readings and prayers at a few places - ending with hot cross buns and tea/coffee. It's a very positive and powerful witness, and one person was heard to say, "Are ALL these church people?"
