This is the Autism Alert Card issued in partnership with Strathclyde police. There are similar schemes running in other parts of the country as well. People with Autism come into contact with the Police and courts very often due to difficulties in communication and behaviour which might appear strange and aggressive. The percentage of prisoners with ASD's is much higher compared to the rest if the population and very often imprisonment might have been avoided if the criminal justice system had been aware fr?
