Saturday 7 April 2012: J is for ... Jaw Shaking
CRUNCH!!!!
This is what rugby is all about! Bone shuddering tackles and full committed attacking play.
I've had a pretty awesome day today. We caught the bus into Cardiff with our friends to watch the local derby, Cardiff v Pontypridd RFC.
It was a cracking game of rugby played by both sides in the right spirit and no quarter given. After a bit of tit for tat in the opening quarter and the game tied at six all, Ponty seemed to find an extra gear and stretch out a decent sized lead of 23-6 at half time. But to Cardiff credit they came out fighting in the second half and forced a couple of Ponty mistakes that lead to tries, and suddenly there was just a score in it again!
Ponty ket their cool, and wore Cardiff down and run in a couple more tries in the final quarter, finishing up 43-20 worthy winners.
Well pleased with how the camera performed too, the light was rubbish second half, and I had to put it away when it started to rain quite steadily. I'll try and edit some photos of the next day or two and put them up on Flickr.
