a life in photos

coming in to land

That's been about the order of the day today. Lots of buzzing - the Easter Airshow has been on, and we are just down the road from the local airfield, which is the normal stopover for planes coming from Wanaka/Queenstown and heading north again. Quite a variety of planes, some iroqoui (sp), the red checkers, and a few lovely old vintage aircraft. All too far away to get a decent photo of, even though they are just overhead. And I was too lazy to hop in the car and head down to the airfield to catch them there - too much to do actually, busy in the garden today, adn unpacking the last of the boxes.

Eventually the smaller buzzing craft caught my attention, so I put down the gardening stuff and grabbed the camera and took some little buzz craft - honey bees, and this bumble bee flitting around the autumn flowers. Caught this guy coming in to land on the flowers, and as aircraft coming in to land has been the order of the day, here he is.
