Blattodea

Snapped this little dude on a post in the park while out walking today in a brief respite between the wind and rain. It's definitely Autumn now, rainy, windy and cold. Anyway, on to our six legged friend. A simple Australian Cockroach (Periplaneta australasiae), which is oddly enough an introduced species, similar to but slightly smaller than its American cousin (P. americana).
We had some serous weather today, lots of wind and rain and a brief downpour of hail, no such thing as bad weather though, only the wrong clothing. Had a great walk in the park rugged up in my big New York jacket.
