Monday 9 April 2012: Easter Beaches #4

Spiggie Beach

Correctly should be called Scousburgh Beach but most call it Spiggie as it is next to Spiggie Loch an RSPB reserve which can just be seen on the left. The sea off the beach had a number of seals, long-tailed duck and a Black Throated Diver while the beach itself had the usual Oystercatchers, Turnstone and a couple of Ringed Plovers.

Tide has been in for my beach visits this Easter - need to plan better. At least there was a bit of sun today and there are still many more beaches to be found in the South Mainland of Shetland.
