Sgwarnog: In the Field

Gritstone Woodland

I managed a quick bank holiday circular walk over the moor to Shipley Glen, and then back through the Glen and along Baildon Bank. The route was partly prompted by today's theme word for the Bradford Photo a Day April challenge, which was transport. I thought the Glen Tramway would be a safe option, but ended up choosing an image of a plaque commemorating the opening of a new road in the village in 1935.

The trees in the Glen and on the Bank are still quite bare, but the signs of spring were there in the pungent wild garlic, the carpet of bluebells and the chiffchaffs calling.
