Saturday 18 February 2012: Gold Canyon, AZ
Tomorrow, this is where I will be running the first 6 miles of the marathon. One of the reasons I picked this race was for its desert start with beautiful scenery. It starts out in the desert, around dawn, and runs along this rural dirt road before transitioning to regular roads for the next 20.2 miles.
Mr. Apple and I drove out to see the course but M didn't want to know what was in store for her. We didn't do too much today. In the evening we had a crappy dinner at the closest restaurant to the hotel, followed by frenzied race prep, and an early bedtime at 9:30 PM.
