Andy's Photo Journal

A pump in a cage.

Read some interesting things concerning photography today.

First was on instagram on the BBC website where the service was described thus "They port mediocre photos into an alternate universe where they look kind of good". The others were from Robert Adams who stated "Your own photography is never enough, every photograher who has lasted has depended on other peoples pictures too - photographs that may be public or private, serious or funny, but carry with them a reminder of community"

Question is where is the crossover between the world Adams describes and the dumping of the banal and mundane into the web? Does it even cross over?

In the meantime here is a picture of a pump in a cage. Not many people will look at it, Adams has a quote about that as well. Get yourself a copy of Why People Photograph, it's well worth it.
