Wednesday 11 April 2012: Empress Flour Mill Waimate
Waimate is renowned for its Edwardian buildings, but the Empress Flour Mill building is one of the few left from the Victorian era. Built in 1890 the Empress Flour Mill produced a range of products including flour.
The Silos were built in 1921 with a height of 35 metres and a landmark for this little town.
The property is now owned by Waimate Transport ... I did find an article saying they wonted to pull it down ( that was in 2008 )
Thank you for all of yesterday's great comments :-)
