Thursday 12 April 2012: The Recce
Joanne and I had a great day today on a recce of the route for the D of E practice expedition which will be happening in a couple of weeks' time. Tony dropped us at Storiths (I seem to have been there a lot lately!) and we walked up to Hawber then across the moor to Middleton to take a look at the campsite we will be using for the overnight stay. It was full waterproofs on for a while there but by the time we dropped down into Ilkley for our lunch stop, the sun had come out and Jo was regretting leaving her sunglasses behind. We then moved on up to Ilkley Moor and traversed to the Cow and Calf rocks which is where I blipped Jo checking the route and bearing for the next leg. The final leg took us further across the moor till we dropped down into Menston, in t-shirts this time!
