Friday 13 April 2012: Extreme Rider Challenge

These bikers took a rest at Meiringspoort during their quest of completing the Extreme Rider challenge.

"The BMW Motorcycle Club of Pretoria has an "Extreme Rider" challenge:
Ride your BMW motorcycle to the 4 extreme cardinal points of South Africa - Pontdrift in the North, Cape L'Agullhas in the South, Kosi Bay in the East and Alexander Bay in the West - in any order.

Do it in your own time on any BMW motorcycle and you get a Silver Class Badge.

Do it on a single BMW motorcycle within 21 days and you get the Gold Class Badge.

The name means both "riding to the extremes" of the country and "riding to the extreme" of your endurance (in the manner of the Iron Butt Association) and would be a test of our physical and mental strength.

These bikers were intent on completing their challenge within 21 days ..."

Good luck to them!
