Saturday 14 April 2012: AprilChallenge - How You Feel Today

Today we went to Staffordshire's National Memorial Arboretum. We've been meaning to take the kids for ages. I don't think you should have something like that on your doorstep and not go. Matt has been studying WW2 in his history lessons, so it was an opportunity to hammer some information in.

There aren't many days when I can't choose a blip. But today, I couldn't decide between this wider view, or the one before it in my blipfolio, (I can't link to it, for some reason!) the monument to National Service.

I like the one I've used best...I think. It was in the children's garden, and each leaf had a name on it. Gulp.

So, how did I feel today? Frustrated, when clumsy Matt spilt a whole box of Cornflakes across the floor. Cooooold - it was nippy out. Relieved, when Matt finally had a good haircut. Bored, when Paul and my Dad discussed roofboxes. Relaxed - the first glass of red has gone down :)

But mostly, impressed. Proud that Staffordshire has this brilliant place. Yes, it's sad, and it REALLY makes you think, but it's strangely uplifting. Today the Arboretum was full of kids playing, uniformed cadets, people coffee-and-cakeing, art students sat drawing...I thought that was pretty special. Brought it to life, I suppose.

Tomorrow - Sunset. I may miss that one...we'll see.
