Sunday 15 April 2012: not a cup of soup then!
Spent a spectacular hour or so in the Chinese deli in Vic Park today on an equally spectacular day. Tucked amongst the Japanese takeaway. Happy Noodle Bar, Baskin and Robbins Ice Cream store and a variety of op shops the deli is packed with customers, day in day out.
Being a mad blipper I always ask the owner if I can take photos and they are usually suspicious at first, then surprised and finally enthusisatic pointing out all sorts of potential blips.
What a treat for the eye and amongst the joss papers,green swiss rolls, beautifully packaged noodles, tins of eye wateringly hot wasabi, tadpoley looking drinks, tempura seaweed snacks,other snacks increasingly hot as illustrated by an increasingly reddening cartoon face and 'gingerly' oil were these packs of 'traditional chinese 'soup bases.
Not exactly designed for a cup and hot water..would neat a large pot and a flame I think.
