Monday 16 April 2012: Kabul fireworks display!
This is an image from yesterdays/todays fireworks display which went through until the very early hours of this morning here in Kabul.
The insurgency decided to kick off the Spring offensive yesterday afternoon about half 1 ish and battles raged through the night until something daft like 0530hrs this morning!
The City has been pretty much locked down with several key sites whacked by Indirect fire i.e. Mortars and rockets, Suicide bombers and Small Arms fire
This is a picture of a Blackhawk smashing its rounds in to the building where the Insurgents were firing from and in to various locations. Lots of people running around flapping like budgies and panicking for some daft reason.
I passed the building again this afternoon in the last hour and its got more holes than Gordonzola cheese or as my mate said yesterday more holes than the English back line defence?! hahaha
