A beautiful spring day

It is hard to believe that just three days ago we had freezing temperatures, snow, (not on these mountains) rain and gale force winds.

This morning proved to be a champagne - morning: clear, crisp and a balmyness in the air that is full of promise.

On my way to Cecile's house to let the cat out, the mountain seemed so beautiful - stripped of clouds, but displaying soft, early morning shadows.

To the left of the mountain, a radio tower can only just be seen. Just to it's left, there is an old reservoir, no longer in use for that purpose. It is now a restaurant, and serves a very good menu.

A year ago we went there for a wedding reception, and because this area falls within the restricted forest area, private cars are not allowed.
So, all the wedding guests were transported with taxis and mini buses, hired specially for this purpose.

From the parking area to the restaurant, it is about 2 miles of gravel road through forest and beautiful indigenous vegetation.
It may not seem high up, but it has a very beautiful view for many many miles around.

While at the reception, the sunset was one of the most awesome ones - there were lovely cloud formations encircling the far off mountains which contributed to the magic of the occasion.

What amazes me of these mountains, is that there are virtually no two days that they look alike. Depending on the weather and the clouds - they don a new dress everyday.

I was quite surprised to see that the moon, tiny an diminutive, was enclosed!
