"Abbie and I joined them..."

In the life of each of us there is a place remote and islanded, and given to endless regret or secret happiness.

The Nora Diary, Day 27

Beautiful day, the "Paige"
working fine. The boys went
out in the morning
and at 12:30 Abbie and
I joined them and did
the adjoining towns. Out
all the afternoon.
Fog came in about four.
We all went to meet
Aunt Lill at 7:45. Sat
up until nearly eleven.
Took Gram Hanson for a
ride-( 90 years old).

Nora and Gordon are beginning their extended honeymoon, staying with his family. His father, sister Abbie and brother Sam are all bustling around. Summer weather is more than welcomed in Maine. Nora and Gordon have had a few days to rest and begin to relax. She's called her Aunt Lill and had a long talk with her. A first lesson in pressing Gordon's trousers and coat was a success,"Did very well." Last evening some of the girls were in and they giggled and had some ice cream, cake and chocolate. Just like Waltham.

For the Record.
This day came in unbelievably warm, now it's summer hot, 91 in the sun!. No leaves to shield the sun's rays, way, way too hot for me. Today is the running of The Boston Marathon, 5000 runners took a deferment until next year, many elite runners did not finish, dangerous conditions to say the least. Hopefully, Heartbreak Hill will not cause any heart attacks or too many heat strokes. Kenyan winners again this year, but last year's winners didn't finish.

G and family are on the road home from the very house shown in this blip, left to my mother by her aunt. She's the woman pictured with Nora on the steps, Abbie Stella Hanson, my grandfather's sister.
