Liberation - the re-launch of the Highland Lady

The day's finally arrived! We re-launched Highland Lady and took her up around the north east coast of Skye. The sight that greeted us when we arrived off the Waterloo road was amazing and at the same time surreal. Highland Lady - cradled in the big metal gantry straps, was waiting for the tide to come and set her free. It was grey and a wee bit misty, but the water was very still, so the reflections were amazing.

We passed Scalpay on the eastern side of the island, then cut through the narrow channel between Scalpay and Raasay. We stayed on the western side of Raasay, sailing past Portree, Staffin, and up round the north end of Skye.

We had to break the journey into two legs, mooring up in Uig before carrying on round to Dunvegan.
