Erosion of the Coast line....

Another lovely day down here in the West Country and we made our way to Sidmouth, lovely area and town with a pebble beach.
We we were walking on the sea front we noticed a brown/red slick in the sea, we followed it round to the end on the sea front and there we saw evidence of slippage and land erosion, a recent fall of the cliff face was being washed out to sea, some of the fences at the top of the cliff were hanging over and it won't be long until several meters of garden are gone forever.
I don't suppose these folk have any insurance now for their houses.

After all this is a natural event and part of the Rock Cycle, this is where sedimentary rocks and washed away and laid down on the sea bed for eons where pressure and heat transforms them to other types of rock.

Enough of the geology lesson and we will get back to our holiday, see you tomorrow.
