Thursday 19 April 2012: No more cars on the ferry

For hundreds of years the Renfrew Ferry carried passsngers - and cars, once they were invented - across the Clyde between Renfrew and Yoker.
As of a couple of years ago the old car ferry was discontinued and this is the Renfrew Ferry nowadays. Pretty tiny.
If you look closely you'll see a newspaper through the window. Behind that is the "skipper", possibly doing the crossword or checking his football coupon.
This was taken from the Yoker slipway, you can see the Ferry Inn on the opposite bank.
Nice calm day when I took it, five minutes later I was caught in a hailstorm.
