Off the rails

I was going a bit stir crazy, tied by work and cold weather to my desk apart from short trips out to the market and to take photos over the past few days, so Lo Jardinièr suggested going to Marseillan for lunch. These are some of the jetties where the oysters and mussels are brought in from the beds in the lagoon that can be seen on the horizon. I liked the wobbly rails used for rolling containers of shell fish from the boats to the mazets (as they're called, like the vineyard shelters) onshore.

We had an excellent lunch by the port - moules gratinées, cassoulette de petites seiches (little cuttlefish), and tiramisu. A carafe of rosé and very good coffee. I've come back feeling restored.
