Friday 20 April 2012: BUDDHIST TEMPLE WINDOW

Today I have been to lunch with a group of Photography friends at the Buddhist Temple Resturant and Gallery.
The International Buddhist Association centre in Riccarton Road, designed by Christchurch architectural firm Warren and Mahoney, includes a vegetarian cafe, art gallery, library and prayer hall.

The Buddha Hall, the main prayer room, conforms to an old Chinese proverb, "If you open the door you can see the mountain", with the grand central Buddha gazing at the Port Hills, ;
This image is of one of the glass walls in the prayer room. I have just left one of the window in colour and converted the rest to Black and white.
