Friday 20 April 2012: Granary Wharf
Took a trip into Leeds this morning to buy new phone and stock up on books. I tried sweet talking the doorman at the hotel on Granary Wharf to let me up to the Sky Terrace to blip the cityscape. He was very courteous but I would have had to speak to his boss and complete paperwork to take photos so I retreated to the bowels of Granary Wharf where the River Aire goes beneath the railway station in scary catacombs. Tony wanted me to upload the blip of the building I call the cigarette lighter with the old wharf buildings in front and the lovely sky instead of this 'arty farty' one, but I quite like the combination of the hurrying girl and the gloomy arch with the river and city just beyond.
