Friday 20 April 2012: April challenge #19 Something you drew

This is a fashion drawing I drew in 1996.

It was just before I went travelling around the world with my boyfriend (now husband). I had worked for 4 years as a yarn designer in Leicester , after a degree in textile design specialising in knitwear. I put together a mini portfolio of work to be sent out by my mum to HK. My boyfriend and I had the idea that we would travel for a year and then end up in Hong Kong just before handover and as a banker and textile designer would find hundreds of jobs just waiting for us. What we hadn't planned for was that at this time the last thing the Chinese wanted were more British. And as the saying goes the rest is history.

Now I'm teaching fashion (thankfully their fashion drawings are better than mine !!)
