Thursday 1 March 2012: Morning!

Or 'G'day', perhaps. This fellow was waiting to greet me as I left the apartment early in the morning for a meeting with the Vice-Chancellor. I think it may be the Gippsland Water Dragon (Physignathus lesueurii howittii).

When we got to the Vice-Chancellor's office we were greeted by a large stick insect.
