Was It Really So Long Ago

L is for ... Lady in the Bath

... or actually DICENTRA spectabilis, but often bleeding heart - you easily can see why at this early stage of the flower's life.

... or Chinaman's breeches, Dutchman's breeches, Locks and keys, Lyre flower, Seal flower and Showy bleeding heart. This must be an old favouraite to have attracted this many names.
The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its Award of Garden Merit. Its one of my early spring favourites too. I do have many though.

Work continued today, the culmination of a project, which should have been finished a week ago. For various reasons, it rolled on and on. So I've been finalising documents, talking on the phone across continents to make sure everything is in place in time. All is now well. Afterwards, some grass cutting, and eventually photography. Thankfully, the threatened rain did not appear and the children entertained themselves, with their cousins dropping in for a few hours in the afternoon.

Hope you have a great weekend.
