Sunday 22 April 2012: fit chips
As an unashamed fan of the humble chip these are a new variety in the language of the deep fried finger of spud.
Much loved on a stagger home from the pub, the fat chip accompanied a slab of crispy fish or as I discovered in Edinburgh in 1980 was an alternative to rice at the local Chinese take away, as opposed to the equally enticing deep fried haggis, meat pie and mars bar for pud.
Airfried?? How does that work??
Well however it works, the shopping centre (on a Sunday, don't ask) was heaving with fit chip munching trolley pushers.
