Monday 23 April 2012: HYDROPROGNE CASPIA
There are still about a doz. Caspians around the estuary, moving about quietly doing what Caspians do.
They are found world wide and are probably the largest of the terns. They have a distinctive "KAAH" and you can often hear them before seeing them.
They dive for their food - I have caught in this act and I'll post the date for that to be seen in my entry later. ( I cant recall the date off hand )
