Monday 23 April 2012: What a waste
You cannot have escaped the fact that, in England at least, the NHS (along with David Attenborough, the only remaining thing we have to be proud of this St George's day) is being sold for scrap.
What will probably have passed you by is how Richard Branson reckons his Virgin empire can fill the gap. By which I mean he is poised to make a killing. Pun intended. Read this excellent blog post on the tack Branson's undercutting mob are already taking.
In short, then: the coalition's NHS carve-up is mostly predicated on concerns about waste, so who do they turn to for best-practice on reducing this waste? A billionaire playboy who's spunked millions on calamitous balloon trips.
I'm moving to Scotland.
