TARDIS Mark II

I have been vaguely disturbed on several occasions walking along George Street at the top of Bath's city centre by the appearance of this red telephone box.

Firstly, it has appeared only recently; as far as I knew, the old GPO-style of red telephone boxes designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott (who also designed Battersea and Bank-side - now Tate Modern - Power Stations) are no longer installed.

Secondly, as an iconic if still pretty common piece of street furniture, this example differs in a number of ways that stir the subconscious first before the conscious mind takes any notice.

Perhaps it's going to become a standalone ATM, a hole in an invisible wall.

Or maybe the Chameleon Circuit in the Doctor's TARDIS is on the blink again...
