Monday 23 April 2012: The Den
I had originally fancied travelling seawards and getting the boat a bit shipshape but time ran away. By the time I set out, I had a change of heart: perhaps it would be best if I just bought a bottle of beer and was sociable. Of course, I'd need three bottles so I could at least offer someone a drink.
I imagined we'd still be coming to terms with the loss of the clubhouse. Not a bit of it! A fine convivial evening in our comfy wee cabin which has something of the shebeen about it. The old world of blazers, the picture of the Queen, the trophy cabinet; already, they belong to another era and we seem none the worse for it. The Schofferhofer, I can report, is a perfect Monday night drink.
