Monday 23 April 2012: Two Flames

Hunting around for interesting things to photograph at night and thought nothing could better on a moonless night then playing with candles, smoke and mirrors.

I have a long low sort of alter in my room dotted with candles and oils mostly for use when I can't sleep. On a bit of a tangent I'm something of an aroma freak and love the scent of candles anointed with frankincense, benzoin and myhrr oil. If you're ever interested in 'the scent trail' there's a fantastic book by Patricia Davis on Aromatherapy; it's an A-Z but also contains some fascinating information on the production of scents from the ancient Egyptias and Greeks up to today.

Hope this good enough for day 1!
