Monday 23 April 2012: Breakfast in the Gulf Islands
Another amazing warm calm day in the PNW. I took the camera with me in the rowing boat for our morning row (H was especially patient!) for some seals, herons, island shots from the water but I liked this composition with the strong diagonal on the end of a small sandstone island. The fact that there is an eagle having fish for breakfast on this perch makes it even better, don't you think? (You can probably see him better large...)
Also checked on the geese and their nest. No activity. Mom is patiently sitting. Dad was lazily floating about in the water at the bottom of the rock. So I will miss seeing these guys hatch as we are reluctantly headed home to Seattle tonight, to return mid May.
