Tuesday 24 April 2012: Whimbrel
A final visit to Ruddon's Point for this trip. Made a point of getting there before ten to ensure the best visibility for the view west across Largo Bay. Unfortunately though, even with the sun behind I couldn't turn any of the Common Scoters or Velvet Scoters into the elusive Surf Scoter. Never mind though, this Whimbrel was feeding on the beach just below me and a distant view of a Red-throated Diver added two to the year list taking it up to one gross.
