Tuesday 24 April 2012: St Paul's Cathedral from One New Change
Some modern architecture is wonderful; some isn't.
I think that the building at One New Change is (extremely) unattractive: it looks, to me, like the offspring of a shopping centre and a stealth bomber.
An unlikely couple...
However, it is splendid for the views it offers of St Paul's: the peculiarly faceted glass façades offer spectacular reflections of the cathedral, and the cleft down the middle of the building creates a wonderful vista towards the dome.
I travelled to Mansion House this evening to meet up with some of my family and a close family friend, and arrived just as the sun was ducking behind the clouds; I very much enjoyed wandering around the building snapping the various reflections and angles that I spied.
