I was in the West End for the meeting. It went OK (likely to be the first of many before the mess is sorted). I made my way down to Byres Road afterwards and saw this interesting face coming towards me.
I do love a life story! He told me about the history of Glasgow and the local area. He has lived in the West End of Glasgow all of his eighty-six years. The very top of the building opposite us, with the Old Victoria Cross (1820's) sign on the top tenement, was where his Grandmother lived. She remembered when the sign was fixed on her property. He said "she was just like you...a formidable woman!". I have absolutely no idea what he meant by that. I'm a pussy cat. He told me how the area used to be light limestone but the quality of the surroundings were permanently changed by the thick billowing smoke that used to rise out of the tenements heated by coal fires.
Although - I forgot to ask his name!

I start my photography course tomorrow morning so am looking forward to learning how to work my camera. It actually started last week but I forgot and had a blissful lie-in and then woke up and thought whoops!).
Have a great weekend all.
Must apologise for not getting around to comment much - will make amends over the weekend.
