Saturday 28 April 2012: #POP28
What an amazing turnout for Pedal On Parliament. Two and a half thousand people travelled from all over Scotland to ride a couple of miles from the Meadows to Holyrood, and show how important it is that we start thinking much more seriously about cycling in our transport infrastructure.
Cyclists aren't just a bunch of alternative freaks; we're people from every walk of life who understand that two self-propelled wheels are better for us as individuals, society and the planet, than four powered by oil.
I hope this was the start of something new, and not just the end of two months' hard work for those who made it happen.
