Even after all this time
the sun never says to the Earth,
"you owe me."
Look what happens
with a love like that,
it lights up the whole sky.

Resisted driving over to the lake this morning
wanted to be home to greet the day
and get a jump on today's work projects
somehow new leaves in the first light
seemed very monday morning to me
sunrise isn't just about colors on water -
it's light into one's heart
