MAIDS OF HONOUR

Am home now and this is a backblip

Saturday 28th April

Another rainy day. Breakfast in hotel. The hotel was very busy due to there being a lot rugby supporters in London. There was a big game on at Twickenham in the afternoon - a crowd of 60,000 watched The Army take on The Navy in The Babcock Trophy match.

Becky and Mike arrived at 10am. We got the bus to Kew Bridge Road. Walked across Kew Bridge to The Original Maids Of Honour - a lovely tea room.

Becky and Mike hadn't had their breakfast so Becky had porridge and Mike had scrambled egg on toast. I had the speciality - a " Maid Of Honour " - a sort of curd tart in lovely buttery puff pastry.

My blip shows the old fashioned van the establishment uses for home deliveries.

When we left the cafe we walked to the centre of Kew - not much there but a nice little place. Too rainy to walk around for very long.

Got the bus back to Isleworth and went to The Coach and Horses for lunch. I had a sausage sandwich and Crabbies Ginger Beer.

Back to Becky and Mike's flat . Watched Sky Sports and listened in disbelief to the score in the match between Wigan and Newcastle United. Newcastle lost 4 - 0. Cripes!.

Back to my hotel to get changed for evening meal. Becky and Mike collected me and we got the bus to Chiswick. We had our meal in The Cabin. I had rib-eye beef pie with mashed potato. It was lovely.

Still raining so we got the bus to Brentford and had a drink in The Weir pub. Becky and Mike took me back to hotel on the bus.

Hotel very noisy through the night - rugby supporters I assume.
