Sunday 29 April 2012: Closing Circle - music camp
All too soon the music weekend comes to an end. This is about 1/10th of the women who attended - we're all in a circle in one of the cabin villages, singing songs, giving thanks, saying our farewells. It was a powerful weekend and, as always, filled with many emotions. I visit with people I see once every year or two; we try to catch up on our lives over lunch or during a few free minutes we can grab between classes and concerts. Musical connections are made, lifelong friendships are forged, lives are changed. It's not an exaggeration.
Weekends like this give me hope, especially as more younger women are attending who will carry on the flame. We often joke that anyone in politics or government should be required to attend one of these camps. The world would become a peaceful place.
Aren't those little Hobbit cabins the cutest? More photos in a slideshow here, and I've backblipped Friday and Saturday entries.
