Signaller AF Pearce, 1917

This is my Granddad, January 1917 on active service in France.

I mentioned him on Anzac Day, when I blipped a WW1 bugle he returned with.

I have no idea how I come to have this. I found it today while sorting through files in the spare room.

What gets me is his youth. He's still a teenager sent off to the trenches and quagmire of the Western Front to war.

I wonder how his Mum, Mrs Pauline Pearce felt when she looked at this photo she was sent?

More long term jobs accomplished today. My drier died earlier in the year. For $10 it's gone. As a one person household I should be able to do without one.

The latter part of today spent with the hunter. He needed a hand and I was happy to help.
